Almost 100 Items Will Be Cheaper at Oklahoma Grocery Stores in August (2024)

Oklahoma has announced what items will be cheaper at stores throughout the state at the end of next month.

We're used to prices going up, but Oklahoma will be seeing prices going down thanks to House Bill 1955. This bill will eliminate the state sales tax on CERTAIN grocery items. It's estimated that a family of four will see on average somewhere between $400 to $700 in savings over the year with the elimination of the tax.

• Bottled water and flavored water
• Coffee (beans, ground, freeze dried, bags or instant)
• Coffee, tea or other beverages in a bottle or can
• Concentrated juices
• Energy drinks
• Liquid drink enhancers
• Non-alcoholic co*cktail mixes and beer
• Powdered drink mixes (e.g. cocoa, lemonade)
• Smoothie - made by food manufacturer
• Soft drinks in bottle or can
• Tea (bags, tea leaves or instant)

• Cold chicken ready to eat - prepared by seller - sold by weight or volume -
  no utensils
• Cold deli salad - made by the food manufacturer
• Cold deli salad - made by the seller - sold by weight or volume (includes
  variable unit pricing)
• Deli meats by weight
• Deli sandwich - made by the food manufacturer

  burritos, pizza or sandwiches
