I am vigilant. 🫣🫣🫣So vigilant.... that I asked an Indoctrination Class at Navy Reserve Center Pittsburgh this weekend if they were contacted or knew what a Career Transition Assistant was. ANDI even went a step further to ask if the room if they knew anything about the U.S. Navy Reserve before sitting in for INDOC. 30 people in the room, total silence. Please please please 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 #ActiveDuty #Navy #Leaders Command Career Counselors #Wardrooms#commanders #NROTC #NavalAcademy Navy Recruiting Command Reach out to a Navy Reserve Recruiter so we can educate!! As qualified Career Transition Assistants, Navy Reserve Recruiters are equipped to answer your questions! Whether its....-TAPS-How do I sign up for Reserves -What do you do in the Reserves -When do I drop my NSIPS resignation request? -What is drilling? -How does billeting work? -Are there opportunities to go full time again? -Benefits Admin-Tri-Care- WHATEVER Ask us. #Corporate, #Civilian, #federal companies - you can help us too!!!! As you encounter transitioning service members, befriend your local Navy Reserve Recruiter so we can make sure they aren't missed too far after the fact! *** We are getting better and fixing a lot of issues with Reserve Affiliation *** Icing on the cake!? COMPASS PLAZA: How do you change the culture and environment with Air Force students of today for the better? You start in the beginning of their military journey. Just recently Sheppard AFB named an area near the student dorms - Compass Plaza. This name was derived from the concept that all of us need to follow our True North, our Moral Compass. Leaders of today need to set the standards of - Integrity First, Service before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. We know this but it’s the application and follow through in the everyday Ops Tempo that makes it hard to apply. If we don’t do it, the students will follow their past experiences, which might not have been good examples: Below are Chaplain Corps White Ropes and Sexual Assault Prevention Program Teal Ropes. Pillars of the values needed in the Airmen of the future. See Video by clicking Link to hear from White Ropes explaining this understanding. https://lnkd.in/gSjyfmrj

Pursuing reliability and physical asset management. Studying the history of maintenance as a hobby!

Nancy Leveson is again being misquoted or dumbed down!Subsafe requires many other systems to work correctly, like the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, Industrial Test Program Administration Manual, NSTM, MCT, etc. Together these find and prevent all sorts of trouble well before getting underway. As far as being too successful…our undersea brothers & sisters in other countries continue to lose submarines every few years. In 2017, INS Arihant (Indian Navy) sank at the pier in a similar way as USS GUITARRO. Ourselves, we’ve nearly lost DOLPHIN, but more recently MIAMI and BONNE HOMME RICHARD. Indeed, MIAMI and BONNE HOMME RICHARD were not exactly pressure hull breeches, but that’s my point: Subsafe deals directly with only a few problems. Subsafe by itself will not save your undersea system from failure. You need the rest of the risk mitigation systems also, and the right culture. That culture is Rickoverian, a.k.a. “Creeping nukeism.” Rickover was dealing with a massively disruptive technology. His management program was meant to exploit new technology while limiting the damage that the unknowns could do. Subsafe, and later DSS/SOC, leveraged the culture that he built. Leveson’s excellent book is publicly available for free in a pdf format on her website. Here is my previous review of Leveson’s summary of Subsafe:https://lnkd.in/gnaaNCXa#safety #reliability #submarines

Reproducible Quality without compromise, Customer acceptance of product integrity is like earning trust, it arrives on foot but departs on horseback…….there comes a point where quality reduces based on high schedule…..Quality / product integrity must always be first.
