As a Business Analyst/Project Coordinator to the Manager, Residential Care with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Report to the Manager, Residential Care, the Business Analyst/Project Coordinator provides project coordination and analytical support and the coordination of recruitment/hiring and staffing functions for the designated site on behalf of and in support of the Manager to assist in the achievement of effective client care.
  • Assume responsibility for operational daily staffing activities of a non-clinical nature in the absence of the Manager.
  • Act as a point of contact and liaises with Employee Engagement and other corporate/specialty areas to receive/convey information and represent the interests of team.
  • Provide support to the Manager on human resources, staffing, financial and service related issues, policies and procedures; completes and ensures consistent application of directives from Employee Engagement, Finance or other corporate service areas.
  • Provide thorough review and analysis of information, supports the budget planning and budget management process, and prepares related reports, and coordinates project documentation, project management tools and executive reports for specific Residential Care projects on behalf of the Manager, allowing for effective risk management.
  • Occasionally provide guidance, supervision and work direction to support staff.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or in a field related.
  • Supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years' recent, related financial, human resource and business/operational analysis and project planning experience in a large, complex service organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and projects and motivate others in meeting and achieving deliverables. Shares the vision of fostering a respectful and motivating work environment.
  • Uses strong analytical, research and financial abilities to support decision making.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Lean principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles and practices and relevant collective agreements.
  • Employs advanced expertise in the use of current computer applications including advanced word processing, graphics presentation, and spreadsheet computer applications to create and maintain a variety of databases, documents and reports.
  • Results-oriented within a high-pressure working environment with numerous critical timelines.
  • Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of stakeholders and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as facilitation skills to work effectively in a team setting and with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify issues, and to develop and analyze solutions to resolve problems.
  • Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and confidential information.
  • Optimizes program effectiveness and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
